Sword Fighting In Colleyville
VBHF is a non-profit dedicated to the research and practice of Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) as recorded in texts written by practitioners and masters of the time. We are currently focus on the sword art described by the 16th century German fencing master, Joachim Meÿer as well as the sword & buckler tradition described in the 14th century MS I.33. Through a combination of academic study, technical practice, and sparring, we seek to recreate an effective style of combat consistent with historical practices.
VBHF is dedicated to our members and art without compromise - ensuring members' safety, enjoyment, and personal growth as they learn is our primary goal. While perhaps not as practical as many other martial arts, HEMA with VBHF does confer many of the benefits that often come with more commonplace martial practices and a whole suite of additional benefits that other styles and schools may not. Fighters Against Racism
VBHF is a proud supporter of Fighters Against Racism, an organization founded by London Longsword's David Rawlings in the UK.
From the FAR website:
"FAR is a group for martial artists of all kinds who want to take a stand against racism and ensure that anyone can practice our arts and be part of the community without fear of discrimination."
